Just over a week ago, the Portland Metro area saw a bit of snow. The snow and cold temperatures were a reminder of how in February of 2021, several places in Oregon experienced a severe ice storm that left people without power for days.
While the recent snow that came and went quickly was nothing compared to the ice storm in 2021, it is a good reminder of the importance of informing your electric company if any oxygen concentrators or other electric medical equipment are in use in the care home. You may be able to get priority service in case of a power outage. It is also a good reminder to make sure all staff have carefully reviewed your emergency preparedness plan and have been trained on what to do in the event of a power outage.

Our March EQC class filled up a month early, so we have opened up an additional EQC class starting April 7th. The April-May course is a complete EQC group course only. It is EQC Essentials plus AFH Administration for future licensees, co-licensees and administrators.
There will not be an EQC Essentials only option for the April course.
