Update Fall Regattas

Coach Boris has decided to participate in three official regattas this fall. All of them will be “Virtual” (the crews will race the distance on the Passaic River using a GPS device and then submit the time and a picture of the crew). We will invite local crews to race with us (Montclair, Nereid, Bosco, etc) to create a more realistic racing experience. Two of the races are part of the USRowing “Virtual Fall” program, they are:

-Head Of the Schuylkill (October 18th -24th, Distance 4100m or 4300m TBD)

-Head of the Fish (October 31st - November 1st, Distance 3200m)

-Head of Charles Regatta (Is not part of the USRowing “ Virtual Fall”) (October 9th - 16th, Distance 4702m)

Ridgewood Crew 2020 Fall Rowing Program

Ridgewood Crew will be providing a fall rowing program for interested youth. The program will include a returning rower - split by gender (3 days/week) and novice program (2 days/week). The program will be run from September 8 through October 31. All rowers will attend on Oct 31 for a fun end of season event. Coach Boris has reached out to other local HS team to hold fun scrimmages during the season. Note - rowers will need to provide their own transportation to/from practice. The fall program will be run following the Ridgewood Crew Covid-19 Safety Protocol (attached). This protocol was approved by the Bergen Department of Health and must be followed by all Bergen County rowing programs. Additionally, in late July we have received approval to row in multi-person boats as long as every rower in the boat wears a mandatory face mask. Please note that the rower's and coach's health and safety is of utmost importance and we will follow the state and local health guidelines. Any changes to the Covid-19 Safety Protocol will be communicated via crew news.

  • Girls Returning Rowers: Tues, Thurs (4:15-6:15pm), Sat (8-10:30am); $750
  • Boys Returning Rowers: Wed, Fri (4:15-6:15pm), Sun (8-10:30am); $750
