RACE RESULTS - MANNY FLICKS 3 & 4

Head Coach, Boris, has brought to our attention that the results for Manny Flick Regattas should be posted by “heat” or “flight” not by overall times. For clarification our head coach explains that the Manny Flick Regattas do not have stake boats to guarantee every boat starts from the exact same point. All other regattas - Garden State, Cities, Mid-Atlantics, Stotes, Nationals – will have stake boats. Results for those races will be posted overall. So…. Please see the revised results below - even more Spectacular !!

ALL LIGHTWEIGHT ROWERS !!!

must bring valid ID for weigh-ins at all regattas.  Please remember to bring along with you!  
- WEIGH-IN TIMES – April 22, 2018 –

There will be three weigh-in sessions as follows: 

7 - 9 am at St. Joseph's Boathouse 

7 - 9 am at Vesper Boathouse, Kelly Drive 

12 Noon - 1 pm - for boys only - at St. Joseph's Boathouse location.

All boats must report together. Competitors are allowed a second try if they fail to make weight but are within one pound of the designated weight. That second try must be made within one hour or within the weigh-in window, whichever is shortest. Maximum weight is 150 for boys and 130 for girls.

ALL ATHLETES MUST HAVE AN ID

REGATTA BUS TIME - 4/22/18

Regatta bus will be leaving Graydon at 4:50am

Please arrive by 4:40am

After the regatta, the bus will drive all rowers back to PRRA to unload/rig the boats and equipment. Once that’s complete, the bus will drive the rowers back to Graydon.

**Parents/Guardians: PICK UP WILL BE AT GRAYDON.**

We have arranged rooms for the rowers at the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District. The rower's rooms will be paid for by Ridgewood Crew. Please know there is also an extra fee for parking. The cut off date for reservations is Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Welcome to the 5th Manny Flicks 

DIRECTIONS

There are 2 routes most people use to get to Kelly drive. 

  1. Some come from the usual route that GPS will take you from I-95 and through eastern part of Philadelphia near the museum and on to Kelly Drive. Please be aware that there always seems to be some sort of Walk-a-thon, Marathon, street fair or accident that will always delay you!  It never fails, the later you are running to see your rower, the worse the Philadelphia traffic will be. If you are traveling super
    early or later in the day this is a good option.
  1. The other option is to come from the North which will drop you at the top of Kelly Drive via the Schuylkill expressway.  That can get congested as well, but not usually as much as the Eastern approach.  Please see the included map. For GPS, put in: City Avenue, Kelly Drive, Philadelphia.

PARKING

  • When you get to the beginning of the regatta area on Kelly Drive anyone without a parking pass will be directed to park up the hill. Parking can be tricky, especially for the larger regattas. There are a few sites to park in Fairmount Park which is above Kelly Drive, but the map shows the easiest and closest to our tent to park. The parking fee is around $15. You will have to walk through the woods and there is a steep hill (but only for 10 feet and it is very doable) to climb down which will lead you to Kelly Drive.  This is the quickest way to get to our tent, but you can also walk down the side roads, but will take you much longer.  There are also trolleys that make the loop but it does take some time. Make sure you allow at least 20 minutes to park and get to the RC Team Tent.

POINTERS

  • Make sure to pack accordingly to the weather.  It can be very cold on the river even if it is a mild day. If there is chance for rain, definitely bring boots and rain gear as it becomes very muddy very quickly.
  • Ridgewood has its own port-a-potty and we have extra TP, but always best to bring more.
  • Bring your camera and binoculars, chairs or a blanket as there are only spectator stands at the finish line of the racecourse
  • We will have a welcoming table this year. So get your name tag lanyard with a picture of your rower and then we can get to know everyone.
  • Most importantly, enjoy the beauty of it, and how impressive your athletes are! We are so excited to have the whole team together to race for Ridgewood!
