2019 Water Practice Schedule Changes

HS Team Schedule Change

Attention: The new docks at PRRA are not ready for us to use for practice. Our on-the-water practices will begin on Saturday, March 16 and we will be rowing out of Overpeck Park; 8 Bell Dr; Ridgefield, NJ. The HS team will practice on a revised schedule below from March 7 - 14 at the HS: 

Thursday, March 7: Returning boys - 6-8pm; Returning girls/freshman - 5:30-7:30pm

Friday, March 8: All rowers - 5:30-7:30pm

Saturday, March 9: transport of launches and equipment from PRRA to Overpeck Park see schedule below

Sunday, March 10: no practice

Monday, March 11: Returning boys - 5:30-7:30pm; Returning girls/freshman - 6-8pm

Tuesday, March 12: Returning boys - 6-8pm; Returning girls/freshman - 5:30-7:30pm

Wednesday, March 13: Returning boys - 5:30-7:30pm; Returning girls/freshman - 6-8pm

Thursday, March 14: Returning boys - 6-8pm; Returning girls/freshman - 5:30-7:30pm


Schedule for Saturday, March 9: 

All rowers to report to PRRA by 8:30am to load launches and other equipment that will be needed at Overpeck Park. Parents, we can use your help as well, and we ask that you do not leave PRRA after you drop off. At approximately 9:30am parents will drive the rowers to Overpeck Park to unload the launches and other equipment. The rowers may leave once everything has been unloaded. There will be no practice at the HS on Saturday. 


Friday, March 15 all rowers will be bused to Overpeck Park after school to rig boats. Bus pick up is at 3:15pm on Brookside Ave.


Saturday, March 16: Water practice begins, according to the set schedule.


All practice times have been updated in InstaTeam. We will be rowing out of Overpeck Park until further notice. We are hopeful that the docks will be completed by the 3rd Manny Flick and we will be able to practice out of PRRA after the 3rd Manny Flick.

Development Team Schedule Change

Due to the delay in completion of the new docks at PRRA, the Development Team's water practice will be modified. The Development team will continue to practice M, W, F; 4:30-5:30pm at the HS until Wednesday, March 13. There will be no practice on Friday, March 15. The water practice for the Development Team is on hold and will not begin until Ridgewood Crew has moved back to PRRA. We are anticipating beginning the Development Team water practice the first weekend in April. Please stay tuned for more information. If you would like to register for the water practice please do so now. We will provide a revised fee for the Development Team practice once we have a PRRA start date. Thank you for your patience.

Please join us in kicking off the spring season at the home of Alejandro and Elisa Rivero for our 2019 Season cocktail party on Saturday, March 16 at 7:30pm. The Rivero's live at 349 Meadowbrook Ave. No need to write a check, bring anything, help in anyway; just come ready to have a great night meeting your fellow rowing parents for a night of good cheer!

Chuck Wagon Drivers Needed

Regatta season is almost here and we are looking for drivers to haul our chuck wagon to and from the regattas. If you have an SUV equipped with a trailer hitch, please contact Judy Wong [(415) 717 1042 or [email protected]].  If you would like to help but have questions, Judy would gladly assist!

Sign-ups for the food-tent teams are up on Instateam.

  Every family must participate. 

Hurry up! We need to feed the kids!


You still have the chance to choose your own date to volunteer at the Regatta Food Tent.

Free spots to choose from:

1 spot Sunday, April 14th (5th Manny Flick Regatta, Philadelphia PA)

2 spots Saturday, April 27th (Garden State Scholastic Championships, Camden NJ)

3 spots Saturday, May 4th (City Championships Day 1, Philadelphia PA)
4 spots Sunday, May 5th (City Championships Day 2, Philadelphia PA)

3 spots Friday, May 17th (Stotesbury Cup Regatta Day 1, Philadelphia PA)
4 spots Saturday, May 18th (Stotesbury Cup Regatta Day 1, Philadelphia PA)

City and Stotes are both 2 day Regattas. All rowers are participating Day 1, qualifying boats participate Day 2.

Are you considering staying over night for City and Stotes, please sign up for the Day 2 Food tent. Thanks!

Dear Rowers,

Welcome to the Ridgewood Crew team family!  We are looking forward to an amazing 2019 season.

Please find below a copy of the letters and forms you will need to fundraise for the Row-A-Thon on March 23rd.  This is our biggest and most important fundraiser so it is vital for all rowers to be proactive in their fundraising efforts. Every rower is required to raise a minimum of $300. Remember the deadlines: 

* For Corporate Sponsor Logos and Artwork, the deadline is March 15th. Please submit Logos/Artwork in pdf format to: ridgewoodcrewfundraising@gmail.com

* For Individual & Corporate Monies, submit before or by the day of the event, March 23rd.  All checks should be payable to: Ridgewood Crew and delivered to Mrs. Carmona at 898 Hillcrest Rd., Ridgewood NJ 07450.  

If you decide to walk around your neighborhood, please read the Recommendation for the Rowers letter first.
