ITAT Leadership Conference

ITAT held its Semi-annual leadership conference on September 30th at West Jordan HS. Over 50 ITAT students from our clubs came out and got to spend time and learn from each other.

The students got to present their presentations that they've been practicing for weeks to their peers. They taught one another about mental and physical health, the dangers of vaping, and how we can educate our families on these topics in a culturally respectful way.

Students had the great opportunity of hearing from our guest speaker, Simote Pepa, defensive tackle at the University of Utah. Pepa discussed the importance of what you put into your body and the benefits of avoiding drug use, especially for a D1 athlete. Pepa also touched on mental and emotional health and how having a positive mindset can change the world.

September was a great month for ITAT and Queen Center to meet new people and collaborators. ITAT made a tabling appearance at Poly Days festival, the Pacific Health 5k (pictured above), and the West Valley Block Party. We're excited to grow our network so that we can work with and learn from others in our community!
