When delivering our courses, we hear from Health Professionals who have done a number of CPR courses over the years, and who feel forced to attend a course. No matter how many courses you do, you can never be too prepared for an emergency - and these often occur outside of your workplace.

This link will take you to a video that screened on Seven Sharp recently http://tvnz.co.nz/seven-sharp/dad-s-life-saving-cpr-after-finding-toddler-face-down-in-pond-video-6478885
It features a father who had to perform CPR on his daughter after finding her face down in a pond. Not something any of us would want to deal with, however this highlights that perhaps CPR should be viewed as a life skill, rather than something compulsory.
Online Tests.
Online testing Many thanks to those of you who have taken time to do the online tests and send us feedback about them. They have been a work in progress, and we have managed to incorporate most of your suggestions into them. Why not give them a go if you have some downtime? They can be accessed at http://www.emcare.co.nz/resources/course-resources
Tip of the month This months top tip is from Philippe Gianni - a dentist at Lumino Ponsonby in Auckland. We give out algorithms on courses, and if you are not sure where to keep them, simply use Philippes' tip - attach them to the back of pictures that you have in your surgery/practice. They are out of sight when not needed, and if you do need them simply turn the picture over!
