Zen Meditation @ CAM Studio

Relax your body and still your mind.

Wednesday, February 27

6-7 pm   /  $5 donation / $3 members

Buddhist Meditation is an ancient set of teachings, which enables the practitioner to connect body and mind in the moment with utmost loving-kindness to oneself and to the rest of the world

Mindful and light physical movements are used to bring oneself to present moment. Developing a loving-kindness meditation practice and breath-awareness expands all sensory experiences.

This is a guided meditation session with quiet time to practice the techniques individually in a relaxing setting, surrounded by beautiful artwork by local artist Andy Lepe, while learning how to calm the mind and develop inner peace.

Meditation led by Bhante (Reverend) Sutadhara, special guest instructor who is an avid practitioner and teacher of Zen Buddhism from the An Lac Mission / Ventura Buddhist Center.  This class is geared toward beginner and intermediate level meditators.  Please bring a mat, blanket and/or meditation pillow to class.

Mona Neuhaus2017 Home is Where the HeART is Artist

In November 2016 Mona created a body of work and art It’s Just Paint. This was the beginning of a change in direction both artistically and professionally. The concept was to show a body of work from one artist compiled over a number of years, and then to discuss the inspiration and thought process not only of each piece, but the evolution of myself as a painter over her career. The goal and concept was to educate about the creative process and the enduring value of art and artistic expression.

Mona Neuhaus’s exhibition Atmosphere, Clouds, Water, Mud and Mountains - eleven pastel paintings inspired by and in response to climate change. In addition, her series All About Giclees, featuring giclee prints from paintings now residing in private collections throughout the United States. The inspiration - our National Parks and places the Neuhaus’s have traveled. Many of the pieces are representational with others being abstract interpretations of a scene, either real or imagined. The works are currently on view at Centerline Pilates in Ventura. Owner, Anna Malec.

The greater body of Neuhaus’s work being shown currently is with Thrivent Financial at the "Thrivent Gallery at Conejo Ridge, featuring 54 pieces of work by the artist, all original pastels. The pieces are a good example of the range of my work and new direction in pastel. The works are based on the artists observations, inspiration and focus on our ever-changing natural environment.

The exhibit/show is always available for the general public to view "by appointment only.”

For private tours and/or appointments please contact Mona Neuhaus at [email protected]

Plus, Mona Neuhaus's work will be featured in the upcoming exhibition The Imaginary art commingling realism and the imagination!
