Minister Simon Coveney visited Clonmel Friday 31st March 2017.
Councillor Michael Murphy very kindly facilitated the Chamber by arranging a meeting in Hotel Minella. 
The Minister updated the audience with initiatives on housing including the new project in Ardgeeha,and infrastructure spending to come. He also updated the audience on the National Planning Framework 2040, upcoming legislation on business rates and water charges

Prudent Control of Current Expenditure Vitally Important- Press Release 4th April 2017


Commenting on the release of Exchequer Returns Ian Talbot, Chief Executive of Chambers Ireland said, “The Irish economy continues to perform strongly in the first quarter of 2017 with VAT receipts notably strong. However, Government must monitor areas such as income tax and corporate tax, which while performing solidly, are falling behind target. Prudent control of  expenditure is vitally important in the coming months and Government should continue with caution in relation to increased spending.” 

“In order to prepare our economy to address global economic uncertainties Government must prioritise investment in areas of the economy that can drive future growth, protect investment and lead to continued job creation.”

Skillnet Networks across the South East are coming together to offer a comprehensive half day Learning and Development Conference at Lyrath Estate, Co Kilkenny on Tuesday, May 16th from 8.30am to 1pm.

This half day event is aimed at owner managers, learning and development professionals and those with an interest in professional development and may be engaged in Learning and Development best practices through their organisation. Attendees will hear from some of Ireland's leading industries and experts at the forefront of Learning and Development in the areas of Leadership Management, Coaching and Development and Succession Planning, backed by real life practical Case Study examples and panel discussion.

Talks Urgently Needed to Resolve Damaging Industrial Action

Chambers Ireland called on management at Bus Eireann and the Unions to utilise the industrial relations machinery of the State to resolve the current industrial dispute and restore transport services for the public who rely on them. 

Commenting on the ongoing strike by Bus Eireann drivers, Ian Talbot Chief Executive of Chambers Ireland said, “The current industrial action is having an unquantifiable impact on business across Ireland and is particularly disruptive and damaging to small business and retailers..."
